Restful Waters – Good News for November 2

Psalms 23

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

Though I walk in the valley of darkness, I fear no evil, for you are with me.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul.

He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side with your rod and your staff that give me courage.

You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.

Romans 5: 5

Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

The Daily Path: Psalms 23 should be the mantra for those of us in The 3 a.m. Club who wake up in the middle of the night worried about the road ahead. “Attention all 3 a.m. Club members! Commit Psalm 23 to memory.” Reflect on it before you climb out of bed and head off to address your burdens. Maybe you’ll find comfort and fall back into a peaceful sleep. Now I’m going to take my advice and go back to bed. “… beside restful waters he leads me…”
