He Has Risen – Good News for Easter Sunday

4 04 2010

John 20:19

On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.”

So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.

When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead.

The Daily Path: Today is Easter. Go and find Him. He’s waiting for us.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for sharing the journey with me each day. May this Easter be the beginning of something incredible in our lives. I pray that our hearts will be filled with hope in Christ and always open to our Father’s love as we travel home.

Christ Is Risen – Good News for Easter Sunday

He is risen!

Mark 16:1-7

When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go and anoint him. Very early when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb. They were saying to one another, “Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” When they looked up,
they saw that the stone had been rolled back; it was very large.

On entering the tomb they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly amazed.
He said to them, “Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.'”

The Daily Path: Christ is risen!

Our Lord rolled back the huge stone in my life so that I could live again. I’m so grateful for all God that has done for me and my family in the past year. His grace has been abundant. So much love has come our way in the most difficult of times to show us that we are not alone. This would not have been possible were there not a living God.

I pray that each of you will come to know Christ’s love as I have. Let Him roll back the tombstone in your own life.

May the Peace of Christ be with you this Easter.

Room to Chat: Thanks to everyone who has joined our little novena for Michael these past two weeks. I know God listens when two or more come together to pray. And I pray that He rewards each of you for the time you’ve spent these past two weeks remembering our brother Michael.

Happy Easter
